  1. MOD approves construction of 17 New Baffle Firing Ranges
  2. “National Workshop on Skill Development for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)” was held in New Delhi.
  3. Ministry of Powerannounced that it will hold a conference of state power ministries at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The Conference will be inaugurated by Shri R K Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy.
  4. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwallaunched the “Happiness Curriculum” for students of nursery to Class 8 in government schools . The curriculum was launched in the presence of the Dalai Lama.
  5. The first meeting of the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA)was held at Central Water Commission (CWC) office in Delhi.
  6. Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Dasannounced that Jharkhand will have the first ‘Khadi Mall’ of the country.
  7. The Chhattisgarh governmentset up a tribal museum in the state’s upcoming new capital Naya Raipur . The decision was taken during a meeting of Chhattisgarh State Tribal Advisory Council chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh at New Mantralya.
  8. MoU has been signed between the Madhya Pradesh governmentand National Health Agency for implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission in the state from August 15,2018.
  9. The Centre has announced a state-of-the-art e-waste recyclingunit for Bengaluru, India’s technology capital. It will be India’s first such unit in the government sector.

  1. The World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kimannounced The World Bank’s support to the Bangladesh government in managing the Rohingya crisis in a meeting with Finance Minister AMA Muhith at the Secretariat in Dhaka .
  2. Chinaapproved USD 1 billion grant to Pakistan after it has been placed in  Financial Action Task Force FATF’s  ‘grey list’ .
  3. 5th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Intersessional Ministerial Meeting was held in Tokyo, Japan.

  1. NABARDhas announced that it has sanctioned Rs 735.53 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for West Bengal.
  2. IIFL is India’s top investment bank for equity issuance by private sector companies as per report of Prime Database Investment Bankers League table for FY 2017-18.
  3. State-owned Punjab National Bank and Allahabad Bankhave raised the marginal cost of funds-based lending rate, the floor rate at which it lends to consumers, for select tenors by 05-0.10 per cent.
