  1. Union Tourism Minister  J. Alphons, co-chaired the 7thMeeting of Tourism Ministers of ASEAN-India with Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien. The Meeting was held in Ha Long City in Viet Nam.
  2. India to host the 14th session of the Conference of Parties to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD)
  3. Palestinetook over the chairmanship of the Group of 77 from Arab Republic of Egypt.
BANKING & FINANCE
  1. C.S.Mohapatra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic affairs, Government of Indiaand Mr. Katsuo Matsumoto, Chief Representative, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed the Loan Agreement under Japan’s Official Development Assistance Loan Program in New Delhi.

  1. Japanlaunched the Epsilon – 4 rocket carrying 7 satellites including world’s first artificial meteor shower blasted into space from the Uchinoura space centre by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
  2. Indian Navyinducted two Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) at Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, to boost coastal security.
