UPSC Assistant Engineer Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. Assistant Engineer (Naval Quality Assurance) -

Education Qualification:  Degree in Engineering in the disciplines of Electrical/ Electronics engineering from a recognized university.

Experience: Two years practical experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control/ Production / Manufacturing and testing of Engineering equipments including knowledge of various standards and their interpretation.

Desirable: Experience in Computer operation for the purpose of preparation of technical reports, technical briefs etc

2. Assistant Engineer (Naval Quality Assurance) -

Education Qualification:  Degree in Engineering in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.

Experience: Two years practical experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control/ Production / Manufacturing and testing of Engineering equipments including knowledge of various standards and their interpretation.

Desirable: Experience in computer operation for the purpose of preparation of technical reports, technical briefs etc.

3. Civil Hydrographic Officer -

Education Qualification: Degree in Engineering in Civil or Computer Science or Information Technology or Master Degree in Mathematics or Geography or Geophysics or Computer Applications or Computer Science or Information Technology OR Pass in the final examination of the institution of surveyors in sub-division1(B) Hydrographic surveying.

Experience: Two years experience in Nautical Chart Compilation and Digital Cartography. [Experience should be from Government or autonomous organization or statutory body or public sector undertaking or University or recognized research institution]

Desirable: (i) Certificate or diploma in foreign language, preferably French. (ii) At least one year experience in application of geographical information system technology

4. Junior Technical Officer in Integrated Headquarters -

Education Qualification: Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics and Communication or Marine or Naval Architecture or Industrial Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience: Three years working experience in relevant field of Engineering viz. Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics and Communication or Marine or Naval Architecture or Industrial Engineering.

Desirable: At least one year experience in Dockyard or Shipyard

5. Principal Civil Hydrographic Officer, Integrated Headquarters - Education Qualification: Degree in Engineering in Civil or Computer Science or Information Technology OR Masters Degree in Mathematics or Geography or Geophysics or Computer Applications or Computer Science or Information Technology OR Pass in the final examination of the institution of surveyors in sub-division1(B) Hydrographic surveying.

7. Assistant Survey Officer in Geological Survey of India -

Education Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering or Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) or B.Tech degree in Civil or Mining Engineering from a recognized University.

Experience: Two years experience in surveying including Total Station, GPS, Theodolite Surveying, traversing, leveling, contouring, Computer Software under registered engineering or surveying establishment, mine and dam

8. Stores Officer in Geological Survey of India -

Education Qualification: Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or Institute; or Degree in Science with two years experience in Materials Management (procurement, maintenance of scientific and technical stores and equipments and inventory control)

9. Assistant Director Grade-II (Economic Investigation) –

Education Qualification: Master’s Degree in Economics from a recognized University or equivalent.

Experience: Two year’s experience in conducting and guiding investigation or surveys and research relating to small scale industries.

Desirable: (i) experience in handling economic data pertaining to and knowledge of problems relating to small scale industries and/or other industries. (ii) basic knowledge of computers application currently used software/packages for offices.

UPSC Assistant Engineer Selection Process 2021:

UPSC may follow the following process to select the candidates.

Application Fee/Exam Fee for UPSC Assistant Engineer: 

(a) Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card.

(b) No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community. No "fee exemption" is available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.

(c) Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection would be entertained.

(d) Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
