Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant - 01/2023 batch Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. Assistant Commandant (General Duty) -

(i) Should hold a degree of recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks.

(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics.The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

2. Assistant Commandant (Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL-SSA)) -

(i) Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics.The candidates who have completed diploma are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

(ii) Should possess current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation on the date of submission of application.

3. Assistant Commandant Technical (Mechanical) -

) (i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR

Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).  

(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics.The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

4. Assistant Commandant Technical (Electrical/Electronics) -

(i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks.

OR

Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).

(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics.The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

(a) Candidates appeared in the final year or final semester exam and awaiting result are allowed to apply provided that they should not have any present back papers. Such candidates should be able to submit provisional or original degree certificate issued by University at the time of Final Selection Board (FSB).

(b) Candidates withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any other service training academy are not eligible to appear.

(c) Candidates should not have been arrested, convicted or prosecuted on criminal charges.

(d) If there is no vacancy for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy)/EWS category candidates, in such case, reserved category candidates can apply as unreserved, however, they will not be eligible for any age and passing marks concession/relaxation. SC/ST candidates can only be exempted from payment of application fee.

Age Limit:

1. Assistant Commandant (General Duty) - Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force)

2. Assistant Commandant (Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL-SSA)) - Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2004 (Both dates inclusive).

3. Assistant Commandant Technical (Mechanical) - Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)

4. Assistant Commandant Technical (Electrical/Electronics) - Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)

Note:

(i) Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates is applicable only if posts are reserved for them.

 (ii) Maximum 5% relaxation in aggregate in the degree certificate for SC/ST candidates. No relaxation is applicable for 12th class marks except CPL-SSA entry

 

Salary Details: The promotions to the ranks will be as per the laid down promotion criteria. The pay scales for the various ranks are as per the 7th CPC are as follows:-

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant - 01/2023 batch Selection Process 2022:

Indian Coast Guard may follow the following process to select the candidates.

1.

Stage-I (CGCAT) The Stage-I would include conduct of screening Test for the eligible applicants which will be a Computer Based Examination conducted at various centers all over India.

2.

Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)} Candidates will be screened through Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception &Discussion Test (PP&DT)

3.

Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB) The candidates are subjected to Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test).

Stage-IV (Medical Examination)

Examination Fee:

Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay/ Credit/Debit Card/UPI. Admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee and who are entitled for waiver of examination fee.
