NCPOR Scientist Eligibility Criteria:
Educational
Qualification:

1. Scientist
F (F-1) - Essential: Masters Degree or equivalent in any branch of Science related to
Geology/ Applied Geology/ Earth Science/ Marine Geophysics / Marine Geology /
Marine Science / Physical Oceanography or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree
in Engineering or Technology related to the relevant subject from a
recognized University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the
relevant branch of Science from recognized University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 16 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate
level),research and development, survey, administration, planning,
supervision or training etc. in the field of marine geophysics/ marine
surveys / vessel management/ marine geology. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related
to specified field. (ii) Having extensive experience and leadership in marine
geoscientific surveys and/or studies. |

2. Scientist
E (E-1) - Masters Degree or equivalent in
any branch of Science related to Microbiology/ Marine Biologyor its
equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related to the
relevant subject from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in the
qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the
relevant branch of Science from recognized University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 11 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level),
research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or
training etc. in the field of microbial ecology /microbiology /marine
biology. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related
to marine microbial ecology. (ii) Having extensive field experience and high
quality peer-reviewed scientific publications. |

3. Scientist
E (E-2) – Essential: Masters Degree or equivalent in any branch of Science related to
Marine Biology/ Marine Sciences or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
or Technology related to the relevant subject from a recognized University
with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s
degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the relevant branch of
Science from recognized University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 11 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level),
research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or
training etc. in the field of marine biology/biological oceanography
/plankton ecology. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related
to phytoplankton taxonomy. (ii) Having extensive field experience and high quality
peer-reviewed scientific publications. |

4. Scientist
D (D-1) - Masters Degree or equivalent in
any branch of Science related to Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Marine
Geophysics/ Earth Sciences or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering or Technology related to the relevant subject from a recognized
University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the
relevant branch of Science from recognized University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 7 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate
level),research and development, survey, administration, planning,
supervision or training etc. in the field of marine geophysics /marine
surveys. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related
to specified field. (ii) Experience in acquisition, processing and
interpretation of marine geophysical data. (iii) Having field experience and
high quality peer-reviewed scientific publications. Scientist D
(D-2) - Masters Degree or equivalent in any
branch of Science related to Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Marine
Geophysics/ Earth Sciences or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering or Technology related to the relevant subject from a recognized
University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the
relevant branch of Science from recognized University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 7 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level),
research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or
training etc. in the field of marine geophysics /marine surveys. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related

(D-3) - Essential: Masters Degree or

from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree
level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate
in the relevant branch of Science from recognized University or equivalent Experience :
Essential: 7 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate
level),research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision
or training etc. in the field of marine geology / geochemistry. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc.
related to specified field. (ii) Experience in handling analytical
instruments for geochemical studies. (iii) Having field experience and high
quality peer-reviewed scientific publications. Scientist D
(D-4) - Essential: Masters Degree or
equivalent in any branch of Science related to Physical Oceanography / Marine
Science/ Physics or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or
Technology related to the relevant subject from a recognized University with
at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree
in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the relevant branch of Science
from recognized University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 7 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level),
research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or
training etc. in the field of oceanographic survey/data/modelling. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related
to specified field. (ii) Experience in handling deep sea oceanographic and
mooring data (iii) Having field experience and high quality peer-reviewed
scientific publications. Scientist D
(D-5) - Essential: Masters Degree or equivalent in any branch of Science related to
Chemistry/ Hydrochemistry / Marine Chemistry/ Chemical sciences or its
equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related to the
relevant subject from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in the
qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or
Technology or Doctorate in the relevant branch of Science from recognized
University or equivalent Experience: Essential: 7 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate
level),research and development, survey, administration, planning,
supervision or training etc. in the field of chemical oceanography /
hydrochemistry. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or
management etc. related to specified field. (ii) Experience in collection,
analysis and interpretation of seawater/ sediment samples (iii) Having field
experience and high quality peer-reviewed scientific publications Scientist D
(D-6) - Essential: Masters Degree or
equivalent in any branch of Science related to Marine Biology/ Marine Science
or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related
to the relevant subject from a recognized University with at least 60% marks
in the qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or
Technology or Doctorate in the relevant branch of Science from recognized
University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 7 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate
level),research and development, survey, administration, planning,
supervision or training etc. in the field of marine biology. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc.
related to specified field. (ii) Experience in marine benthos / benthic
ecological studies / molecular taxonomy (iii) Having field experience and
high quality peer-reviewed scientific publications. Scientist D
(D-7) - Essential: Masters Degree or equivalent
in any branch of Science related to Physics / Geophysics/ Earth Science/
Earth System Science and Technology or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering or Technology related to the relevant subject from a recognized
University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in
Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the relevant branch of Science from
recognized University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 7 years experience in
teaching (at graduate or post graduate level),research and development,
survey, administration, planning, supervision or training etc. in the field
of geophysics / glaciology. Desirable: (i) Experience in
policy making, planning or management etc. related to specified field. (ii)
Experience in collection, analysis and interpretation of geophysical data
using ground penetrating radar (iii) Having field experience and high quality
peer-reviewed scientific publications. |

D (D-8) - Essential: Masters Degree or
equivalent in any branch of Science related to Physics/ Geophysics/ Earth
Science or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology
related to the relevant subject from a recognized University with at least
60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the
relevant branch of Science from recognized University or equivalent Experience: Essential: 7 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level),
research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or
training etc. in the field of geophysics / glaciology. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related
to specified field. (ii) Experience in collection, analysis and
interpretation of geophysical / glaciological data (iii) Having extensive
field experienceandhigh quality peer-reviewed scientific publications. |

C (C-1) – Essential: Masters Degree or equivalent in any branch of Science related to
Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Marine Geophysics/ Earth Sciences or its
equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related to the
relevant subject from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in the
qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or
Technology or Doctorate in the relevant branch of Science from recognized
University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 3 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level),
research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or
training etc. in the field of geophysics / geophysical surveys. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related

C (C-2) – Essential: Masters Degree or equivalent in any branch of Science related to
Geology / Applied Geology / Marine Geology / Earth Sciences or its equivalent
or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related to the relevant
subject from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in the
qualifying degree level. Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or
Technology or Doctorate in the relevant branch of Science from recognized
University or equivalent Experience : Essential: 3 years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate
level),research and development, survey, administration, planning,
supervision or training etc. in the field of geology/ petrology/
geochemistry. Desirable: (i) Experience in policy making, planning or management etc. related to
specified field. (ii) Experience in handling of analaytical equipments for geochemical
and petrological studies (iii) Having extensive field experience. (iv) Having
high quality peer-reviewed scientific publications. |

8. Accounts
Officer/ Senior Manager (SM-1) – Essential: Master’s Degree from a recognized University. Desirable: MBA/LLA/
Diploma in management/ CA/ICWA/SAS or equivalent. Experience
: Essential: Operational computer knowledge. 6 years experience in Govt. / PSU /
Autonomous Bodies in the relevant area in Pay level 11 as per 7CPC.
Desirable: Experience in areas of General Administration/HR/Purchase or
Budget, Accounts, Internal Audit and related financial rules and regulations
of Govt. of India, including computer based accounting in Govt./ Autonomous /
PSU/University / R&D Institution recognized by Government of India
preferably in Scientific or Industrial or Technical organisation or
