UPSC AE Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. Scientist -B (Electrical)

Educational: Master’s Degree in Physics from a recognized University or Institute OR Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering /Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience: One year practical experience in testing / calibration and evaluation of electrical stores / materials / measuring instruments in a recognized laboratory / institute with Master’s Degree in Physics OR two years practical experience in testing / calibration and evaluation of electrical stores / materials / measuring instruments in a recognized laboratory / institute with Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering /Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. DESIRABLE: Research and Development experience in testing and evaluation techniques, material science, quality control, standardization and calibration.

2. Assistant Engineer (Naval Quality Assurance) Mechanical –

Educational: Degree in Engineering in the discipline of Mechanical.

Experience: Two years practical experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control/ Production / Manufacturing and testing of Engineering equipments including knowledge of various standards and their interpretation. DESIRABLE: Experience in computer operation for the purpose of preparation of technical reports, technical briefs etc.

3. Specialist Grade III (Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy) –

Educational:

(i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, (102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).

(ii) Post-graduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned Speciality or Super-speciality mentioned in Section-A or Section-B in Schedule VI i.e., Doctor of Medicine (Dermatology and Venereology); or Doctor of Medicine (Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy); or Doctor of Medicine (Dermatology) or Doctor of Medicine (Dermatology including Venereology); or Doctor of Medicine (Dermatology including Venereology or Leprosy); or Diplomate National Board (Dermatology and Venereology/ Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy/Dermatology/Dermatology including Venereology/ Dermatology including Venereology or Leprosy; or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Venereology and Dermatology; or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Dermatology; or Diplomate National Board (Medicine) with Diploma in Venereology and Dermatology; or Diplomate National Board (Medicine) with Diploma in Dermatology; or Post Graduate Diploma in Venereology and Dermatology; or Post Graduate Diploma in Dermatology and Venereology.

Experience: Three years’ experience in the concerned Speciality or super-speciality after obtaining the first Post-graduate degree or five years’ experience after obtaining the Post-graduate Diploma.

4. Assistant Engineer –

Educational: Bachelor’s Degree in Drilling or Mining or Mechanical or Civil or Electrical Engineering or Petroleum Technology from a recognized University and or equivalent*; (* Qualification equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Drilling or Mining or Mechanical or Civil or Electrical Engineering or Petroleum Technology is the qualification of AMIE acquired before 31.05.2013 in the streams/trades of “Drilling or Mining or Mechanical or Civil or Electrical Engineering or Petroleum Technology”.)

Experience: One year’s experience in repair and maintenance of Automobile machines and equipment: OR One year’s experience in operation and maintenance of drilling rigs.

5. Junior Ship Surveyor-Cum Assistant Director General (Technical) –

Educational: Degree in Naval Architecture from a recognized University.

Experience: Three years practical experience in design, construction, survey and repairs of ships carried out in ship building or ship repairing yards or any Design or Survey Organization after the period of degree course.

6. Junior Research Officer (Research, Statistics & Analysis) –

Educational: Master’s Degree in Statistics or Operation Research or Mathematics or Applied Statistics or Applied Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics from a recognized University or Institute OR Master’s Degree in Economics or Sociology or Psychology or Commerce with Statistics as one of the subjects at Graduate level or Post Graduate level from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable:

(i) Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application awarded by any University or ‘A’ level Diploma under the Department of Electronics accredited computer course.

(ii) Possessing one year post qualification experience of analysis of statistical data and their interpretation in Central Government or State Government or University or Recognised Training Institute or Public Sector Undertaking or Statutory or Autonomous Organization or Recruitment Board e.g. Banking and Railway Recruitment Board or Indian Institute of Technology or Indian Institute of Management or Central Board of Secondary Education or State Public Service Commission or State Board of Secondary or Technical Education or Staff Selection Commission or Union Public Service Commission or University Grant Commission or Council for Scientific and Industrial Research.

Age Limit:

1. Scientist -B (Electrical) – 40 years.

2. Assistant Engineer (Naval Quality Assurance) Mechanical - 30 years.

3. Specialist Grade III (Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy) - 40 years

4. Assistant Engineer - 35 years.

5. Junior Ship Surveyor-CumAssistant Director General (Technical) - 40 years.

6. Junior Research Officer (Research, Statistics & Analysis) - 30 years.

Salary Details:

1. Scientist -B (Electrical) - Level- 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

2. Assistant Engineer (Naval Quality Assurance) Mechanical – Level 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

3. Specialist Grade III (Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy) - Level- 11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC plus NPA

4. Assistant Engineer - Level- 08 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

5. Junior Ship Surveyor-CumAssistant Director General (Technical) - Level- 11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

6. Junior Research Officer (Research, Statistics & Analysis) - Level07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Application Fee/Exam Fee for UPSC AE: 

(a) Candidates (Except Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of any bank or by using Visa/Master/Rupay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI payment.

(b) No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community. No "fee exemption" is available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.
